It is probably her desire for freedom and her strong temperament that urged Marine Miel to start the trend and found the Suzon & Léna label.
She was born in Normandy in 1982.
At her birth, her father was told that she suffered from a handicap of the hand but he decided to buy her a piano straight away.
From then on she devoted all of her time to artistic and manual occupations.
As a child, she showed an aversion to any control over her and it is by avoiding school that she learnt sculpture, painting and sewing.
After arduous years in secondary school, she registered at the Paris Dressmaking Union Chamber school , but quickly she decided to take flight and to learn the professional tricks on her own.
It is at Corinne Cobson’s that she discovered the world of fashion and its’ backstage.
Next she decided to make the most of her experiences and her self-educated past.
In memory of her grandmother who ran a wool shop where a seventies knitting machine had pride of place in the back of the shop that she bought herself a second-hand one.
Considering the woman’s body to be a work of art, she created clothes that emphasized the statuesque parts with the bustle, small waist and nice shoulders.
The wool line was inspired from the elegance of the Empire time and the femininity of the American pin-up.
Her creations also remind us of those of show costumes.
One could question whether she drew her inspiration from the memory of her second grandmother who was a magnificent opera singer.
